There's nothing like a summer full of reruns to drive me straight to the library. That and a book goal of 20 from Memorial Day - Labor Day. I started with the light & easy read Little Bitty Lies
It was a good place to start... with a cool glass of lemonade on a cushy chaise on the deck watching the kids play below. That's what I'm talking about.
I never thought I'd be at this happy place again. The last 7 years seem to be one long day of p/gs, infant seats, b/fing, diapers.
They're not toddlers any more as I had to tell Frank recently. They're running, playing, fighting preschool & elementary school age kids.

Home Alone
Well not quite alone.
The girls are here but Frank went back to work today after a much-deserved 4 day weekend.
BUT I'm more at ease when he's at work - I have my own systems and routines.
Yesterday, I felt out of sorts from the minute I woke up. All hot and sweaty from the air conditioner. Seems the $75 tune up isn't going to buy us few more years afterall.
When he suggested I work in the basement cleaning out boxes of the kiddos toys, I was ready for my own 4 day weekend. I decided to finish cleaning out the fish pond instead. What a foul, foul job. Up to my ankles and elbows in muck. At least there weren't any skeletal remains at the bottom. Just the 2 koi and 2 snails. Trips to Lowes & Walmart weren't exactly successful. Yes, you can get a pump for less than $20 - but not one for a pond, btw. Lowes has a nice pump & filter combo set-up w/ a little fountain action for about $100. Hopefully this weekend. Will the fish make it in their new, clean world? Stay tuned.

Just a tiny drop in the bucket...
Okay, here I go. Sending my tiny words into the big universe. Hoping to amuse and maybe comfort, at the very least myself.
I spent the day trashing the house. Seriously. Big yard sale this weekend and I need to know what to sell. So I can buy more. Just not the same junque. New junque. I'll be parting ways with a few tole trays that just can't cut it any more. Bye bye. I want to be done with the shuffling of stuff. Closing the business & moving means I've done nothing but pack, unpack, move, shuffle, donate, and still feel ill when seeing the pile of shabbyshit in the garage. Frank's garage to be exact. My stuff in his space. Bad combo.
Tonight watched C's dance rehearsal. There's nothing like it - the hours of seeing them in the studio - struggling, and put them on the stage and it looks so much better. They all nailed it. As well as any 6 & 7 year olds can nail a performance. Liv stood in the aisle and did the finale routine with them. Mom came and was thrilled. She was thrilled to see a gal in toe shoes. I told her she should show them her feet and damage done many years ago w/ them. She laughed. I don't think she's ever regretted a moment of her dance experiences. Her surgery is this Thursday btw.
