Spring is in the Air!

Do you ever put something together - fabric, scrapbook paper, tchotchkes, paintings, whatever - and one minute it feels awkward, and the next you stand back and LOVE it? That's what happened here. This aqua square barkcloth was a thrifty find that I knew would be charming in small doses. I loved this lone dragonfly fabric sample. I put them together a few weeks ago and then tossed in my 'eh, what was I thinking??' pile. Last night I decided to give it another try and some love.

It wasn't until the straps went on that I started to feel the love. Beige and shades of blue are soooo yummy and calming to me. Maybe that's what happened. And don't think I didn't notice that the lining is crooked. Yep, I sew late at night. I hate to rip out stuff on tiny issues, when I accidentally sew stuff together wrong - yeah, I fix those. But I embrace my mistakes, it adds to the handmade, homemade appeal. Proves that I'm not a sweat shop. I keep my Secret in my purse all summer to assure, lol!
